Tackling

Tackling generally happens all over the pitch at random points in the game. To deliberately tackle an opponent is far more difficult. From a midfield or defensive position, with opponents attacking, look out for flat passes out wide. Charge straight for the ball, if you get the timing right you can tackle a player just after they receive the ball, setting yourself up to counter attack. Mistiming the tackle will usually mean you collect the ball first and get tackled by your opponent so timing is important. A good tackle at the right time can change the game and create space to counter attack.
