Formation analysis


The formation a team uses influences the way the team plays, whether that be defensive or attacking. I've outlined the pros and cons of each below:



131: 
Midfield biased formation. Can overwhelm formations with width and numbers in midfield. Defence vulnerable to formations with more than one attacker. Effective against "narrow" formations.

Attack biased formation. Lack of width and numbers in midfield and defence make it vulnerable. Effective against "narrow" formations.

Defensive biased formation. Lack of width and numbers in midfield and attack make it difficult to score. Effective against "narrow" formations.

122:
Narrow formation with 1 man defence. Vulnerable to wide formations. Can overwhelm other formations in midfield and attack.
